Ghulam Nabi Azad, the chief of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), said on Sunday that he would work to eradicate unemployment and poverty in Jammu and Kashmir if his party forms the government in the Union territory.
Azad said that he cannot promise jobs to all educated youth, but he will create livelihood opportunities for them. He also said that he wants to bring back a law that will give land back to landless people.
Azad explained that there are three types of unemployed people in Jammu and Kashmir: educated unemployed, skilled unemployed, and unskilled unemployed. He said that all three groups are looking for work, and that his party will create opportunities for them to make a living.
Azad said that during his time as chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir from 2005 to 2008, he created the Tulip Garden, which is now a popular tourist destination. He said that he has many more plans to develop tourism in the region, which will create jobs for people.
Azad also said that he introduced a triple shift system of work when he was chief minister. This meant that work would go on round the clock, which created jobs for more people and helped to complete construction projects faster. Azad claimed that this practice was abandoned after he left office.
Azad’s proposals to address unemployment and poverty in Jammu and Kashmir are ambitious, but they are also realistic. He has a proven track record of development, and his plans are based on sound economic principles. If he is successful in implementing these plans, he will make a significant difference in the lives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
