In a heartwarming gesture honoring public wishes, the Indian government announced a half-day closure for all central government offices across the nation on January 22nd. This decision coincides with the much-anticipated “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony, where the new idol of Ram Lalla will be consecrated in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself is set to perform this momentous ceremony, marking a historic occasion for Hindus and a significant chapter in India’s cultural landscape. Recognizing the overwhelming public fervor surrounding this event, the Personnel Ministry issued an order on Thursday, stating that all central government offices, institutions, and industrial establishments will close for the first half of the day on January 22nd.
Union Minister of State for Personnel Dr Jitendra Singh acknowledged the widespread demand for this gesture, stating, “There was a huge public demand across the country regarding this. Decision on half-day closure of central government offices on January 22 has been taken in view of overwhelming public sentiments.”
