“Isolated light rain and thunderstorms are forecast for Jammu and Kashmir until Friday evening, accompanied by strong surface winds. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of the Meteorological Department, reported that wind speeds could reach 60-70 km/h in both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions, potentially causing temporary disruptions. However, conditions are expected to improve by late afternoon.
From March 29 to April 6, the region is predicted to experience generally dry weather, with no significant rainfall. This period of stable weather will be favorable for outdoor activities, including farming and travel.
The MeT department has issued an advisory urging travelers, tourists, and transporters to adhere to administrative and traffic guidelines due to the strong winds. Farmers are advised to resume agricultural activities, given the anticipated stable weather. The public and tourists are cautioned to remain indoors during strong winds, avoid boating and Shikara rides, and stay clear of weak structures and electric wires to prevent accidents.
The impact of the strong winds is expected to diminish by late Thursday afternoon, leading to a period of dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir.”
