Tight security measures are in place at Bakshi Stadium, the main venue for Independence Day celebrations in Jammu and Kashmir. The increased security aims to ensure a safe and incident-free event.
A full dress rehearsal for the parade took place today at the stadium. Divisional Commissioner V. K. Bhiduri reviewed the parade, which included contingents from the police, security forces, and local schools.
Following the parade rehearsal, a cultural program was held. Artists and schoolchildren performed to showcase the diverse heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
Inspector General of Police V. K. Birdi confirmed that a “multi-tier” security plan has been implemented. He stated that all potential threats have been considered, and high-rise spotters have been deployed to maintain constant vigilance. The police are committed to ensuring peaceful Independence Day celebrations.
