Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah criticized the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) decision to continue funding Pakistan, alleging that these funds are being used to support attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Abdullah argued that the IMF’s financial support would escalate, not de-escalate, tensions. He claimed that the funds enable Pakistan to intensify attacks in regions like Poonch, Rajouri, Uri, and Tangdhar.
His comments followed the IMF’s approval of a USD 1 billion disbursement to Pakistan under its Extended Fund Facility, after completing the first review of Pakistan’s economic reform program.
