Important That India Stands United Against Terror: Rahul Gandhi In Srinagar

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, emphasized the need for national unity against terrorism. Speaking in Srinagar on Friday, April 25, 2025, he stated that the attack’s objective was to sow division among the Indian populace.

“It is a terrible tragedy, and I came here to understand the situation and offer assistance. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have universally condemned this horrific act and have shown unwavering support for the nation,” Gandhi told reporters in Srinagar.

Upon his arrival in Srinagar, Gandhi visited the Army’s 92 Base hospital at Badamibagh Cantonment to check on the injured. “I met one of the injured; unfortunately, the others had already been discharged. My deepest sympathies go out to those who lost loved ones. I want everyone to know that the entire nation stands united,” he said.

Referencing the all-party meeting held in Delhi on Thursday, Gandhi reiterated that the united opposition condemned the terror attack and pledged its support to the government. “The purpose of this attack is to divide our society, to pit brother against brother. It is crucial that every Indian stands together in unity to thwart the terrorists’ intentions,” Gandhi asserted.

Gandhi also met with J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who briefed him on the incident. “I assured them both of my and my party’s full support,” he said.

Addressing the reported harassment of Kashmiris in other parts of the country, Gandhi expressed, “It is disheartening to see some people attacking my brothers and sisters from Kashmir. It is imperative that we all stand together, united, and combat this reprehensible action to eradicate terrorism once and for all.” Earlier in the day, Gandhi met with delegations of traders, student leaders, and tourism representatives.
