India successfully test-fired its Pralay missile on Tuesday. The short-range ballistic missile was developed by the DRDO to meet India’s defense needs along its borders with China and Pakistan.
The missile met all its mission objectives during its launch around 9:50 am. It has a range of 350-500 km and can carry a payload of 500-1,000 kg. Pralay is based on the Prithvi Defence Vehicle and is comparable to China’s Dong Feng 12 and Russia’s Iskander missiles.
Pralay will be deployed along the LAC and LoC. Pakistan also has tactical ballistic missiles in its defense system.
