“Health and Medical Education Minister, Sakeena Itoo, assured the legislative assembly that all healthcare facilities in the Chanapora Constituency, including Primary Health Centers (PHCs), New Type Primary Health Centers (NTPHCs), and Sub Centers, are fully operational. These facilities provide both inpatient (IPD) and outpatient (OPD) services, as well as immunization programs.
Responding to a query from Mushtaq Ahmad Guroo, the Minister detailed the locations of these facilities: PHC Chanapora, PHC Laloo, PHC Nowgam, Urban Health Centre (UHC) Natipora, NTPHC Rawalpora, and Sub Centers in Rawalpora, Gungbugh, Hyderpora, Nadirgund, Peerbagh, and Sanatnagar. She highlighted that select PHCs, UHCs, and NTPHCs also offer specialized services such as ultrasound (USG), X-ray, laboratory testing, tuberculosis (TB) screening, and ophthalmological examinations.
Minister Itoo clarified that the department’s current focus is on enhancing existing infrastructure rather than establishing new facilities or upgrades.
Furthermore, she stated that the department is committed to aligning healthcare services with Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) and improving accessibility through the implementation of a robust e-Sanjeevani/Telemedicine system, utilizing a hub-and-spoke model to address critical service gaps.”
