A tragic accident occurred last night on the Kokernag-Margan-Warwan road in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. A truck carrying bricks to aid fire victims in Muliwarwan veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge near Margan Top.
The conductor of the truck, Bilal Ahmad Khatana (35), tragically lost his life in the accident. The driver, Mumtaz Ahmad Tidwah (37), sustained injuries and was rescued by locals and police.
The ill-fated truck, with registration number JK03E/2017, was transporting construction materials to assist those affected by a recent fire in Muliwarwan. 1 The road, notorious for its treacherous conditions during winter due to heavy snowfall and icy patches, witnessed this unfortunate incident.
