Jaipur-Mumbai Train Horror: RPF Constable Shoots Dead Senior, 3 Passengers

A mentally unstable Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable, Chetan Kumar Choudhary, shot dead four people on board a running train near Palghar railway station in Maharashtra on Monday.

The constable first opened fire on his escort duty in-charge ASI Tika Ram Meena in the running train. He then went to another bogie and shot dead three passengers.

The accused then tried to escape from the train between Mira Road and Dahisar, but was later nabbed by the Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel. His weapon was also seized.

The bodies of the victims were taken out of the train at Borivali railway station.

The accused is in the custody of the Mira Road railway police.

The incident took place shortly after 5 am. The constable was on escort duty for the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Express. He was carrying an automatic weapon.

The reason for the constable’s actions is not yet known. However, a senior police official said that the accused was mentally unstable.

The incident has caused shock and outrage in the area. The police are investigating the matter.
