Jammu, December 6: Tarun, a Jammu based entrepreneur, has urged the Jammu and Kashmir Police department to initiate an immediate enquiry into his alleged kidnapping of him on the intervening night of November 29, 2023.
Addressing media persons today, Tarun narrated the harrowing experience he underwent. He stated that he was returning from a marriage function on November 29 when he stopped near a Jeep showroom in the Chhaani area of Jammu. There, he had a verbal altercation with an individual identified as Jimmy. Suddenly, four goons of Jimmy appeared and started assaulting him. They forcibly took him to their office in Birpur by kidnapping him and also snatched his mobile phones.
“In Birpur, these individuals consumed drugs and subjected him to further physical abuse. The next day, he managed to escape from their clutches and filed a complaint at the Channi Police Station,” Tarun said, adding that it seems that these persons are drug peddlers.
Despite registering a case, the police have failed to provide Tarun with a copy of the FIR or take any action against the accused. He has also been receiving threatening calls, causing him to fear for his life.
Tarun has appealed to the Jammu and Kashmir Police department to investigate the matter thoroughly, arrest the perpetrators, and provide him with security cover. He emphasized his role as an entrepreneur and stressed the responsibility of the police to protect him from such unscrupulous elements.
