Jammu Firefighters Battle Blaze and Ammonia Leak

A fire broke out Monday evening in a cold storage and ice factory on the outskirts of Jammu, but thanks to the Jammu Fire and Emergency Services, a major disaster was averted.

Firefighters bravely evacuated people from the area and extinguished the flames. However, a dangerous complication arose – a leak of ammonia gas. Two officers risked their lives trying to contain the leak, but the control valve was damaged.

Thankfully, Deputy Director R.K. Raina arrived with additional fire trucks and implemented an alternative plan using a water mixture with baking soda to neutralize the ammonia. Police, administration, SDRF, and NDRF teams also joined the effort.
