In a bid to ensure a safe and vibrant Republic Day celebration, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, convened a comprehensive security review meeting at the Zonal Police Headquarters on Monday.
The meeting saw active participation from representatives of various intelligence agencies, Army, BSF, CRPF, Armed Forces, District Police, and civil administration, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts for a robust security framework.
Discussions centered around key aspects like crowd management, traffic control, and the deployment of advanced surveillance technologies to enhance situational awareness. ADGP Jain emphasized the need for thorough briefings for personnel on duty, along with effective coordination at all levels for a seamless execution of the national event.
Particular attention was paid to securing the main venue, MA Stadium, with meticulous security arrangements planned. Taking a proactive approach, ADGP Jain instructed intelligence agencies to activate all resources for comprehensive intelligence gathering to pre-empt any potential threats. Supervisory officers were also urged to maintain heightened vigilance in their respective areas.
Recognizing the importance of collaboration, ADGP Jain stressed on seamless coordination between intelligence agencies, Army, PMF, Traffic, and Security wings. SSP Jammu and SSP Traffic City, Jammu, were entrusted with designating adequate parking slots in advance to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize inconvenience for attendees.
