In a major achievement for the Jammu Police, a special team led by SDPO Akhnoor, Mohan Lal Sharma, successfully cracked multiple highway robbery cases that had instilled fear among residents and commuters. On Tuesday, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, rewarded the officers and officials involved in the successful operation.
Among those commended for their outstanding work were SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma, former SHO Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar, incumbent SHO Akhnoor Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, and several other police personnel. Their dedicated efforts, including meticulous investigation, analysis of CCTV footage and fast-tag data, led to the identification and arrest of five accused individuals.
The special team, under the leadership of SDPO Sharma, proactively investigated a case registered under FIR No. 281/2023 at Akhnoor Police Station. Their thorough investigation, coupled with detailed analysis of similar cases across the district, proved crucial in tracking down the culprits.
The commendable police work resulted in the recovery of stolen vehicles, bikes, sharp-edged weapons, and mobile phones from the apprehended individuals. IGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, expressed his appreciation for the team’s exemplary work and emphasized the importance of recognizing and highlighting such achievements to boost police morale.
Other senior officers present at the felicitation ceremony included DIG JKS Range Shakti Pathak, SSP Jammu Vinod Kumar, SP Rural Jammu Rahul Charak, and SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal. This successful operation has served as a major boost to public confidence and instilled a sense of security among the residents of Jammu district.
