Jammu, August 2, 2025 – Police have arrested one individual and seized a significant quantity of “Gattu,” also known as Chinese thread, following a swift operation in the Talab Tillo area.
Acting on reliable intelligence, officers from PP Talab Tillo apprehended Pankaj Gupta, 38, son of Joginder Kumar, resident of H.no. F/94, Lane No. 07, Talab Tillo. Sixty rolls of the illegal thread were recovered from his shop.
Further questioning of Gupta led to a subsequent raid in the Vikas Lane area of Talab Tillo. This operation, conducted in the presence of Tehsildar Khas Jammu, Shri Paramdeep Singh, and SHO Nowabad, yielded an additional 94 rolls of Gattu, bringing the total seizure to 154 rolls.
A First Information Report (FIR No. 109/2025) has been registered under Section 223 BNS at PS Nowabad Jammu, and an investigation is ongoing. Authorities have stated that further arrests in connection with this case cannot be ruled out.
