Srinagar: One person was killed and five others, including two Amarnath pilgrims, were injured in two separate accidents on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Tuesday.
In the first incident, a car traveling from Banihal to Kashmir collided with a crane inside the Banihal-Qazigund-Navyug Tunnel. The crash resulted in the death of Tariq Ahmad, an employee of the Health Department and a resident of Harbair, Kaskoot Banihal. Three other occupants of the car were injured and transported to the sub-district hospital in Banihal for treatment.
Separately, two Amarnath pilgrims sustained minor injuries when their bus (JK02DD-5141) crashed into a side iron railing inside the Kela Morh Tunnel (T-1) in Ramban district. Authorities have taken cognizance of both incidents.
