J&K: Eight Drug Peddlers Arrested, Contraband Seized

In a concerted effort to combat drug trafficking in the Kashmir Valley, police have arrested eight individuals across various districts and seized a significant amount of contraband.

  • Pattan: Three individuals were apprehended by the Pattan police while transporting 78 grams of charas in their vehicle.
  • Baramulla: A police checkpoint intercepted Ikhlas Noor, who was found in possession of 40 strips of banned tablets.
  • Kalaroos: Javid Ahmed Lone was arrested with 4 grams of a brown sugar-like substance during a routine check.
  • Awantipora: A joint police and revenue team raided a residential house in Larkipora and seized a substantial quantity of 20.500 Kgs of charas-like substance.
  • Pulwama: Two individuals, Nisar Ahmad Rather and Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, were caught with approximately 82 grams of brown sugar at a checkpoint near Arihal crossing.

All the accused have been arrested, and cases under relevant laws have been registered against them.
