Two young girls, Asiya (10) and Tahira (9), tragically drowned in a rainwater-filled trench in the Lower Birpur area of Bari Brahmana, Samba district. The girls, from nomadic families originating in Anantnag, South Kashmir, were grazing livestock when they disappeared on Saturday evening. Following an extensive search, their bodies were discovered in the ditch. Authorities believe they accidentally fell into the water and drowned. A post-mortem examination will determine the precise cause of death.
In a separate incident near Jammu, nine-year-old Pranev Sharma died in a collision between a scooter and an army crane in Patyari, Bishnah. Pranev was riding on the scooter with his father, who sustained injuries and was hospitalized. Pranev died at the scene.
