Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s administration in Jammu and Kashmir has dismissed three government employees—a police constable, a teacher, and a forest department worker—due to alleged terror-related activities. The three individuals, Firdous Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, and Nisar Ahmad Khan, are currently imprisoned.
The dismissals were carried out under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution, which permits the government to terminate employees without an inquiry if national security is deemed to be at risk. This action reflects the administration’s continued efforts to identify and remove government employees suspected of terror links.
Officials stated that the cases against the dismissed employees are based on reliable intelligence and ongoing investigations.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has reaffirmed its strict policy against terrorism and any support for it. Numerous government employees have been dismissed in recent years for similar reasons as the government works to eliminate threats to national security.
