The Meteorological department has forecast light rain, thundershowers, and gusty winds in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir until May 11th.
Specifically, scattered areas may experience rain and thundershowers with gusty winds on May 5th. From May 6th to 8th, partly cloudy conditions with isolated light rain and thundershowers are expected. Between May 9th and 11th, scattered locations in Jammu and Kashmir could see light rain, thunder, and gusty winds, with a possibility of intense thundershowers, lightning, and stronger gusts reaching 40-50 KMPH in isolated to scattered areas.
Authorities are advising the public to refrain from boating and shikara rides on Dal Lake, Wular Lake, and other water bodies during this period of unstable weather. There is also a risk of landslides and mudslides in vulnerable areas.
The public is urged to heed advisories issued by the administration and traffic department. Farmers are advised that they can resume their agricultural activities from May 6th onwards.
