Kashmir Valley experienced a return to cold nights, with temperatures falling below freezing at all weather stations on Thursday. The Srinagar Meteorological Centre predicts mainly dry weather for the next 48 hours.
Srinagar’s minimum temperature was -2.4°C, 2.6°C below the seasonal average. Despite the cold nights, sunny days have created summer-like conditions. Daytime temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir have risen by 3-4°C in the last 24 hours, while night temperatures have fallen by 1-2°C in some areas.
Gulmarg recorded a low of -7.5°C, Pahalgam -3.6°C, and Sonamarg was the coldest at -8.8°C. The MeT office has no significant weather forecast until February 18th.
