Two drug smugglers from Amritsar were arrested in Samba, J&K, on Friday, and heroin worth Rs 28 lakh was seized from them.
Based on a tip-off, a police team in Vijaypur apprehended Sourab Deep Singh and Karan Singh while they were on their way to Samba from Punjab.
During a search, the police recovered 400 grams of heroin worth Rs 28 lakh in the international market from their possession.
A case has been registered against the duo, and an investigation is underway.
In the past eight months, the Samba police have arrested 70 hardcore narco-suppliers, including 13 women, and booked several others under the law.
