Joint security forces in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, busted a terrorist module of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) on Tuesday and arrested a terrorist associate, Shabir Ah Mir.
The security forces conducted a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Nazninpura village in Shopian district. During the search, they recovered incriminating materials, arms, and ammunition, including a 40mm Pakistan-origin RPG, an RPG grenade, and two boosters.
Mir was arrested from the spot. He is a resident of Nazninpura village and is believed to be an associate of the LeT. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
The successful operation is a major blow to the LeT in Shopian. It shows the determination of the security forces to eliminate terrorism from the region.
