District Police Poonch recently acted on a directive to seize 25 books that promote false narratives and secessionism in Jammu & Kashmir. The forfeiture was ordered under Section 98 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
During a district-wide search of bookshops, police did not find any of the prohibited books. Officers informed shop owners about the directive and warned them against stocking or selling such material.
District Police Poonch affirmed its dedication to maintaining peace, protecting public order, and upholding national sovereignty by strictly enforcing all legal provisions.
