Continuing its efforts to discourage the trade and transportation of illicit liquor, J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS* arrested one bootlegger & recovered 27 bottles of JK Special Whisky (375 ml each) from his possession in the jurisdictional area of PS Bani.
On 15.01.2025 police team of PS Bani under the supervision of DySP Ops Bani & SHO PS Bani during naka checking in its Jurisdictional area apprehended one person namely 1. Madan Lal S/o Parmanand R/o Barmota Tehsil Bani District Kathua who was enrouted under suspicious circumstances.During checking 27 Bottles of JK Special Whisky were recovered from his illegal possesion which he had kept in his possesion in order to gain illegitimate profit by selling the same to people of concerned area. Meanwhile all the recovered consignment of illicit liquor i.e 27 bottles of JK Special Whisky were seized and one person arrested in this connection.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 06/2025 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act stands registered at PS Bani and investigation has been initiated.
SSP Kathua assures that strict action will be taken against anyone caught involved in illegal Trade/transportation of illicit liquor.
The general public appreciates the efforts of Kathua Police in seizing the Illicit liquor and apprehending the accused and believes that such actions will deter others from engaging in similar activities.
