J&K Police Seize Property of Kupwara Peddler

In a major blow to drug trafficking, the Jammu and Kashmir police seized a four-shop mini shopping complex belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Handwara, Kupwara district. The action, taken under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), sends a strong message against illegal drug activities in the region.

The police investigation revealed that the property, owned by Farooq Ahmad Dar, was primarily acquired through drug trafficking proceeds. This confiscation aims to disrupt Dar’s financial operations and discourage similar criminal activities.

Dar, already facing multiple NDPS cases in Handwara, is currently detained under the stringent Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT-NDPS Act).

The local community has applauded the Handwara police’s decisive action, highlighting their commitment to combatting the drug menace in the area. This operation serves as a model for other law enforcement agencies to dismantle the financial infrastructure of drug cartels and protect communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs.
