In a major blow to an inter-state narcotics network, Punjab Police have arrested one of the key accused in a recent 30 kg heroin recovery case in Jammu and Kashmir. The accused was arrested from Mullanpur, Dakha in Punjab, and Rs 4.94 crore along with 38 fake vehicle number plates were seized from him.
Punjab DGP said in a social media post that investigations are ongoing to establish the backward and forward linkages of the drug network. Police also recovered a revolver from the arrested person.
On October 1, two narcotic smugglers were arrested with 30 kg heroin worth crores of rupees from a Punjab-bound vehicle on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
