Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a Special Police Officer (SPO) for drug peddling in Udhampur after recovering 5.64 grams of a heroin-like substance from his possession. The SPO, identified as Vishal Singh, was apprehended on Wednesday in the Phangyal area of Udhampur town during a routine police checking operation.
According to an official release, a team from Udhampur Police Station intercepted Singh, who attempted to flee upon seeing the police. He was subsequently apprehended and frisked. Singh is posted at the District Police Lines (DPL) Udhampur and resides in Shakti Nagar, Udhampur. A case has been registered against him under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is ongoing.
