Moderate to heavy rain and snowfall is forecast across Jammu and Kashmir until the afternoon of March 3rd, with peak activity on March 2nd.
- Temperature rise: Night temperatures rose across most of the region, with Srinagar recording a minimum of 4.5°C compared to 2.1°C on the previous night. Gulmarg was the only station with a sub-zero temperature, recording -3.6°C.
- Disruption of transport:Â The weather is expected to disrupt surface and air transportation, including the Jammu-Srinagar highway and other major roads in the middle and higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir.
- Landslide and avalanche risk:Â There is a chance of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas. People are advised to avoid venturing into these areas.
- Advisory for farmers:Â Farmers are advised to hold off on all farm operations during the first week of March.
