The Jammu and Kashmir Border Area Development Conference (JKBADC), an organization dedicated to the welfare of border residents, recognized several prominent journalists from Mendhar for their outstanding contributions.
The journalists honored included Javed Iqbal Khan, Nazim Ali Manhas, Sabash Bali, Tariq Khan Inqalabi, Rajat Kapoor, Dahood Khan, Umar Bilal, Vinod Dutta, Altaf Hussain, and Vishal Bashin.
In a dignified ceremony, the JKBADC Chairman and former Vice Chancellor Dr Shazad Ahmed Malik presented the journalists with letters of appreciation for their exceptional contributions to media and their commitment to spotlighting border community issues.
The event also featured a heartfelt tribute to journalists who have fallen in the line of duty, acknowledging their bravery and sacrifice in the pursuit of truth. They were posthumously honored for their significant service to society.
In his address, the JKBADC Chairperson emphasized the vital role of journalists in upholding democracy, ensuring transparency, and safeguarding national security. He highlighted the media’s crucial role in shaping public opinion and holding institutions accountable, and called for ongoing support for those who risk their lives to report the truth.
The program was attended by distinguished guests, including former PRI members and notable community leaders, who all recognized the profound impact of the honored journalists on the region.
