“In a targeted operation, Jammu & Kashmir Police arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam district, South Kashmir, on Monday, seizing a significant quantity of heroin. Acting on intelligence, a joint police and magistrate team executed a raid at a location near the Islamia Hanfia Institute in Arreh village. Irfan Ahmad Raina, son of Mushtaq Ahmad and resident of Arreh, was apprehended during the operation. 471 grams of heroin, estimated to be worth lakhs, were recovered from his possession. Raina is now in police custody at Police Station Kulgam, where a case (FIR No. 34/2025) has been registered under relevant legal provisions, and an ongoing investigation is underway.
