The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed last Thursday due to a landslide in the Ramban district. This stranded over 200 vehicles and blocked the only all-weather road connecting Kashmir to the rest of the country.
While restoration work is underway, incessant rains continue to be a challenge. Traffic police advise avoiding travel on the highway until weather improves and the road is cleared.
