Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha participated in a high-level virtual meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, focusing on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Following the meeting, Sinha directed officials to implement the Union Home Minister’s instructions promptly and proactively neutralize potential threats. He reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong leadership.
The meeting occurred shortly after “OPERATION SINDOOR,” a series of precision missile strikes by Indian Armed Forces targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, which are used to plan and direct attacks against India. Sinha lauded the operation, emphasizing it as a demonstration of the armed forces’ resolve and a response to the Pahalgam terror attack where 26 people were killed. He asserted that the operation sent a clear message: terrorists will be found and punished, regardless of their location, and that key training camps of groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed were destroyed.
Earlier that day, Sinha reviewed the situation in Jammu and Kashmir’s border districts with senior administrative, police, and district officials, including Deputy Commissioners. He assured that the government is fully prepared to handle any contingency and ensure citizen safety. He instructed Deputy Commissioners to relocate villagers from vulnerable areas to safer locations, providing necessary support such as lodging, food, medical care, and transportation.
Sinha emphasized the collaborative efforts of the administration, police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and Armed Forces, stating they are alert, equipped, and ready to respond to any situation. He continues to closely monitor the situation and conduct regular security reviews.
