Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the 10th Muharram procession in Srinagar’s old city on Saturday. He joined the Zuljinah procession at Botakadal and paid his tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions.
The Lt Governor said that the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions for righteousness and the greater good of humankind serves as a beacon light for the world.
The administration had made necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the procession from Botakadal to Imambargah Zadibal. Senior civil and police officials accompanied the Lt Governor on the occasion.
Sinha also offered Chaddar to Zuljinah and served refreshments among the mourners.
