Baltal, June 30, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today visited the Baltal Base Camp to assess the arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji annual pilgrimage, set to begin on July 3rd.
During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor engaged with camp officials, meticulously reviewing provisions for healthcare, power, communication, water supply, sanitation, food, lodging, weather forecasting, traffic management, surveillance, track maintenance, security, and emergency services. He emphasized the importance of ensuring 24/7 availability of all basic amenities with sufficient personnel to accommodate pilgrims’ needs.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha conducted an on-site inspection of the Disaster Management and Yatri Niwas Complex of the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board to ascertain its progress. He also toured the hospital at Baltal Base Camp, where he inspected healthcare facilities and inaugurated a new training ward for medical staff.
“Significant upgradation has been done to the overall Yatra arrangements,” the Lieutenant Governor stated. “Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, Administration, J&K Police, Security Forces, service providers, all line departments, and stakeholders have diligently implemented pilgrim-centric measures to ensure the pilgrimage is peaceful, safe, and hassle-free for devotees.”
The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by a delegation of officials, including K.N Rai, Member, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board; Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor and CEO, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; VK Birdi, IGP Kashmir; Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Secretary, Science & Technology Department; Jatin Kishore, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal; and other senior officials from SASB, Police, Security Forces, and stakeholder departments.
