Mild Tremors in Ladakh and Kishtwar as Two Earthquakes Strike

Two mild earthquakes rattled Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir early Tuesday morning, sending tremors through the region but causing no reported damage.

The first quake, measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale, struck Ladakh’s Leh district at 4:33 am. Its epicenter lay five kilometers below the surface, and residents in Kargil and Leh were jolted awake but thankfully unharmed.

A second earthquake of 3.7 magnitude rocked Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir at 1:10 am. Similar to the Leh quake, it originated five kilometers underground and no damage was reported.
