Mughal Road, which connects Shopian district in Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch districts, has reopened partially after being closed for ten days due to snowfall. Officials clarified that the reopening is for emergencies only, following the clearing of snow at locations like Pir Ki Gali.
Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, the valley’s main connection to the outside world, is flowing normally in both directions. Traffic on the Srinagar-Kargil road (SSG road) is operating one-way towards Kargil. Drivers are advised to maintain lane discipline to avoid congestion.
