BJP chief JP Nadda is revving up the party machinery in Jammu and Kashmir with a daylong visit tomorrow, Sunday. His mission? To finalize the Lok Sabha poll strategy and potentially pick the candidates who will drive the party to victory in the upcoming elections.
Nadda’s itinerary kicks off at the historic Raghunath temple, a symbolic gesture of seeking divine blessings for the electoral battle ahead. He’ll then shift gears, chairing a crucial meeting at the party headquarters with J&K’s top brass, including state president Ravinder Raina, national General Secretary Tarun Chugh, and both MPs from the region – Union Minister Jitendra Singh and Jugal Kishore Sharma.
This meeting is expected to be the final pitstop before the candidate list is finalized. Whispers suggest an internal survey report, submitted to Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah, holds the key to unlocking the names of those who will carry the BJP torch.
But the road to victory isn’t without bumps. The INDIA bloc’s murmurings of a united front against the BJP add a layer of complexity to the strategy. Nadda and his team will need to fine-tune their approach to counter this potential challenge.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Jammu and Kashmir, slated for later this month or early February, is also on the agenda. Nadda’s discussions will likely focus on how the party can leverage this visit to further bolster its electoral prospects.
Before heading back to Delhi, Nadda will have a separate meeting with J&K’s president and General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, ensuring all gears of the party machinery are well-oiled and ready to roll for the Lok Sabha campaign.
