Udhampur Police, during a routine vehicle check at the Roundomail naka point, intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB06V 2539. Upon inspection, officers discovered 9.680 kilograms of poppy straw concealed within a plastic bag in the possession of the driver, Avtar Singh, a resident of Ramdas, Amritsar, Punjab.
Singh was arrested on the spot, and a case under Sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act was registered at Udhampur Police Station. Further investigation is underway.
