Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, during a two-day visit that began Friday, declared “Operation Sindoor” as a testament to “New India’s” assertive and resolute stance against terrorism. He emphasized that India will no longer be a victim but will respond with strength and strategy.
A Strong Message to Terrorists and Their Supporters
Speaking at the Northern Command headquarters, Singh asserted that India will not tolerate terrorism and will deliver a fitting response if its unity and integrity are threatened. He stated, “Operation Sindoor is not over yet. This is just a pause. I want to tell this to my neighbouring country.”
The Defence Minister credited the nation’s soldiers for India’s shift in policy towards terrorism, citing their unmatched valor and dedication. He was accompanied by Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, GOC-in-Chief Northern Command Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, and other senior Army officers.
Singh lauded the precision, coordination, and courage of the armed forces and intelligence agencies in dismantling terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He described Operation Sindoor as more than just a military action, calling it a warning to terrorists across the border and those who support them.
Honoring Soldiers and Promoting Well-being
Singh acknowledged the courage and sacrifice inherent in a soldier’s life, expressing the nation’s perpetual indebtedness for their service to the motherland.
On the eve of International Yoga Day, during a ‘Barakhana’ (a collective feast), the Defence Minister encouraged armed forces personnel to prioritize physical and mental well-being. He highlighted the critical role of strength and wellness in a soldier’s life, stating, “If you are strong, our borders will be strong. When the borders are strong, India will be strong.” A cultural program was also part of the event.
