Following the brutal killings of innocent individuals in Pahalgam on April 22nd, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that ‘Operation Sindoor’ represents India’s decisive response.
His statement came after Indian armed forces executed missile strikes targeting nine terrorist locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. These targets reportedly included the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base in Muridke. This operation was codenamed ‘Operation Sindoor’.The Home Minister affirmed the Modi government’s determination to deliver a fitting response to any attacks on India and its citizens, reiterating India’s unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism at its source.

The Indian strike was a direct reaction to the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22nd, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people.
