“The Jammu and Kashmir government confirmed that over 800,000 residents receive monthly financial support through various social security schemes. Specifically, 450,797 individuals in the Kashmir Division benefit from the Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS), and another 64,881 receive assistance under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP). In the Jammu Division, 361,182 residents are beneficiaries of these programs. The government refuted allegations of widespread pension payment delays, assuring that disbursements adhere to established scheme guidelines. However, it acknowledged potential delays in marriage assistance payments, particularly when departmental funds are limited. This affects applicants who applied within a month of their wedding.”
