During a Saturday press briefing addressing recent events, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri asserted that Pakistan’s actions against India are considered “escalatory” and “provocative.” He stated that India had provided evidence of these actions and exposed what he termed as “lies” being disseminated by Pakistan.
Speaking to the media, Foreign Secretary Misri said, “Pakistan’s actions constituted provocation, escalation. In response India defended and reacted in a responsible and measured fashion.”
At a joint press conference held by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defence regarding Operation Sindoor, Indian Army Colonel Sofiya detailed Pakistan’s targeting of India’s military infrastructure, the Line of Control (LoC), the International Border (IB), and over 26 specific sites.
“Pakistan used a high-speed missile at 01:40 AM in an attempt to strike Punjab’s airbase station,” stated Colonel Qureshi.
She further added, “In a condemnable and unprofessional act, Pakistan targeted health centres and schools at the Srinagar, Avantipur, and Udhampur Air Force Stations. This irresponsible act clearly demonstrated Pakistan’s intent to target civilian infrastructure.”
In response to Pakistan’s “aggressive actions” along the western border and the Line of Control (LoC), the Indian Armed Forces conducted targeted strikes on critical Pakistani military installations on Saturday. These included technical facilities, command and control centres, radar sites, and ammunition strongholds.
Colonel Qureshi reported that “precision strikes” were executed on Pakistani military targets in Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian, as well as radar sites at the Pasrur and Sialkot aviation bases, utilizing air-launched weapons from Indian fighter aircraft.
She emphasized that this precision targeting was carried out to minimize collateral damage, reiterating India’s commitment to avoiding escalation.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh addressed Pakistan’s attempts to spread “disinformation” regarding alleged damage to the S-400 system at Adhampur, airfields at Suratgarh and Sirsa, the Brahmos space at Nagrota, and artillery-gun positions in Dehrangyari and Chandigarh, among other claims. She unequivocally stated that India rejects these “false narratives,” which she described as part of a broader strategy to undermine India’s military capabilities and create public fear.
“Pakistan has also attempted to execute a continued malicious misinformation campaign, with claims of destruction of the Indian S-400 system at Adhampur, destruction of airfields at Suratgarh and Sirsa, Brahmos space at Nagrota, and Arti-gun positions in Dehrangyari and Chandigarh forward ammunition depot, with heavy damages to other military stations being propagated across social media,” she explained.
Following the targeting of several locations and civilians within India, the Pakistan Army is reportedly moving its troops towards forward areas, indicating potential offensive intentions.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh confirmed this troop movement. She asserted that while all hostile actions have been “effectively countered with proportionate responses,” India has reiterated its commitment to de-escalation, contingent upon reciprocal restraint from Pakistan.
In closing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri urged the public not to be misled by what he termed a “tissue of lies” being propagated by the Pakistani state.
