Srinagar Police have attached a residential property in Mir Masjid Mohalla, Shallabagh Khanyar, valued at Rs 1.5 crore, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The property, which includes 8 marlas and 202 sqft of land along with its building structure, is registered in the name of Mohammad Yousuf Shah and is currently possessed by his son, Masood Hussain Shah.
This action was taken in connection with FIR No. 48/2024, registered at Police Station Khanyar. The case involves Sections 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 7/27 of the Indian Arms Act, and Sections 16, 18, 19, 20, and 39 of the UAP Act.
Investigations revealed that the property was acquired using illegal proceeds from terrorist activities. Consequently, the immovable property has been formally seized and attached under Section 25 of the UAP Act, following proper legal procedures.
With this attachment, the owner is now prohibited from selling, leasing, or transferring the property in any way.
