On Tuesday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police confiscated properties belonging to four Pakistan-based individuals identified as terror handlers in the Sopore and Awantipora regions.
According to a police spokesperson, Sopore Police attached 29 marlas of land owned by Arshid Ahmad Teli of Nowpora Tujjar, Firdous Ahmad Dar (alias Umar Dar), and Nazir Ahmad Dar (alias Shabir Illahi), both from Harwan. This action is connected to FIR No. 28/2008, filed at Police Station Sopore, under the EMICO Act (Sections 2/3), IPC (Sections 120-B, 121), and Arms Act (Sections 7/25–27). The attachment was carried out under Sections 82 and 83 of the CrPC by Sopore Police and Revenue authorities, with court approval. The three individuals had previously been declared proclaimed offenders by the court.
In a separate incident, police in Awantipora attached an immovable property (02 Marlas and 79 Sq.Feets of land) in Frestabal Pampore (Drangabal estate) belonging to Pakistan-based terror handler Owais Feroze Mir. This attachment was executed under Section 88 CrPC, following an order from the Additional Sessions Pulwama Court (Special Designated Court under NIA Act). The order was jointly implemented by Awantipora Police and Revenue authorities. Owais Feroze Mir is implicated in case FIR No. 42/2018 under Sections 18, 20, and 38 of the UA(P) Act at Police Station Pampore, and had been declared a proclaimed offender by the Special NIA Court Pulwama. Police stated that Owais Feroze is actively involved in promoting and attempting to revitalize terrorist activities by facilitating arms and ammunition and activating local terror networks.
