In a major blow to the trans-border drug trafficking network, the Punjab Police recovered 12 kg of heroin and apprehended two people in an intelligence-led operation.
The operation was carried out by the Counter-Intelligence Unit of the Ferozepur Police. An FIR under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered and an investigation is underway to establish the forward and backward linkages of the drug smuggling racket.
The Punjab Police is committed to making the state drug-free, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
