Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha participated in the 8th Purvanchal Festival, “Maati,” held in Delhi. He commended the Maati Trust for organizing the event, which showcased the rich cultural heritage of Purvanchal.
In his address, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the festival’s role in celebrating Purvanchal’s vibrant arts, culture, and intellectual traditions, built over the previous seven editions. He emphasized Purvanchal’s contribution to India’s diverse culture and the preservation of traditional values, noting the region’s deep-rooted spiritual ethos and the significant influence of its linguistic and literary heritage on global culture.
He paid tribute to the freedom fighters, writers, artists, industrialists, and other eminent figures from Purvanchal who contributed to modern India through their dedicated efforts and intellectual and creative achievements. The Lieutenant Governor stressed the enduring values Purvanchal has imparted to humanity, urging the Maati Trust to preserve and promote this legacy for future generations.
He advocated for connecting the youth with Purvanchal’s linguistic richness and cultural diversity, emphasizing the importance of these traditions as sources of emotional connection, peace, ideals, and inspiration.
The Lieutenant Governor praised the Maati Trust’s initiative to engage 51,000 educational institutions in providing scholarships, job opportunities, startup support, and promoting culture through a proposed cultural center.
During the event, he also presented the “Maati Samman” awards, congratulating the distinguished achievers from Purvanchal.
