The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has predicted a weeklong spell of cloudy weather with intermittent rain and thunderstorms across Jammu and Kashmir.
Short-term forecast:
- July 30-31: Widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected in both Kashmir and Jammu divisions.
- August 1-7: Rain and thunderstorms will continue, with heavier rainfall anticipated in the Jammu division.
Severe weather warnings: The Met office has issued a warning of intense, short-duration showers, potentially leading to flash floods, cloudbursts, landslides, and mudslides in vulnerable areas. Residents of Jammu, in particular, should be prepared for heavy rainfall in certain locations.
