A third-grader in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir was allegedly beaten by his teacher so severely it damaged his ear.
The incident happened on Friday at Government Middle School Sada. The boy, just 8 years old, went to the restroom while the class got loud. When he returned, the supervising teacher, who was also the acting headmaster, became enraged and reportedly struck the child, injuring his ear.
The seriousness of the situation seems to have dawned on the teacher, who took the boy to a nearby shop for first aid but didn’t inform the parents. He then sent the boy home bleeding.
Alarmed by the persistent bleeding, the parents rushed their son to the hospital. Due to the extent of the injury, the boy was referred to GMC Rajouri for further treatment.
