Continuing its fight against the menace of drugs,the Ramban Police under the over all supervision of SSP Ramban Shri Kulbir Singh under Operation Sanjeevani arrested two persons with Poppy Straw like contraband in two different cases under the jurisdiction of Police Station Batote.
On 15.12.2024 a police party of PS Batote while performing vehicle checking duty at Nashri Naka on Jammu Srinagar National Highway intercepted a vehicle Canter bearing registration No PB13Z 8565.On questioning the driver of above said vehicle disclosed his identity as Pamma Singh son of Amrik Singh resident of Bhindi Saidan ,Amritsar Punjab.During the process of checking poppy straw like substance weighing approximately 12 kgs was recovered from the above said vehicle and on questioning the driver could not gave any satisfactory reply. In this regard a Case FIR NO 151/2024 U/s 8/15 NDPS Act registered at PS Batote.
In another incident on 15.12.2024 a police party of PS Batote while performing vehicle checking duty at Nashri Naka on Jammu Srinagar National Highway intercepted a vehicle Truck bearing registration No PB22G 9207.On questioning the driver of above said vehicle disclosed his identity as Kashmir Singh son of Bachan Singh resident of Tera Rajputan ,Amritsar Punjab.During the process of checking poppy straw like substance weighing approximately 8.5 kgs was recovered from the above said vehicle and on questioning the driver could not gave any satisfactory reply. In this regard a Case FIR NO 152/2024 U/s 8/15 NDPS Act registered at PS Batote.
Both the accused have been taken into custody,the contraband and vehicle seized.Investigation are currently underway to explore any connections or networks associated with this illegal activity.
